Canada- British Columbia`s Costal wolves
Join on this unique wolf photo expedition at the northern coast of British Columbia, an area often called the Great Bear Rainforest. With the permission and collaboration with the First Nation people we get to stay on a remote island rarely visited by people which has a high density of wolves. During our photo expedition we will explore the area and hopefully get many encounters with the resident wolf pack. The wolves at some of these remote islands have never really been exposed to hunting and seldom of people therefore they often show little fear of people. This gives us the chance of getting uniquely close to them and get a view of their mysterious lives.
During this expedition we plan to spend 7 days in field, we will search for the opportunity of photographing and viewing these unique coastal wolves. We will start our expedition in the small coastal town Prince Rupert, from there we will continue our travel with our privately chartered boat to our final destination. The boat ride to the wolf island takes approximately 3 hours. At the wolf island we will set up our basecamp consisting of a tented camp for sleeping quarters and cooking. It will be a basic set up which can be compared to a camping trip. Our aim is to get the best photo opportunities and get close to the wolves and that one will get only by spending time as close to the wolf area as possible. This set up gives us the possibility to be close to the wolves without disturbing them and also letting them to get used to having us around. Previously we have sometimes even been able to photograph wolves right from our sleeping quarters. One should although not expect to see wolves every day, wolves can be difficult to track and find and there could sometimes be several days with out seeing them. With a lot of patience though there is a very good chance to get unique experiences and close encounters with the wolves in this area. We have worked with the wolves in this area for many years so the wolves has become rather comfortable with us which gives us the chance to get really close to them. We have previously had the opportunity to view the pack with their puppies and sometimes having wolves right next to us being very relaxed which is of course very unique. Although one`s again, as with all wildlife and especially with wolves, one should not expect all this but there is although a good chance. We will spend long day´s waiting and tracking in the field from early morning to late evening and usually in the end it pays off with unique photo opportunities.

Day 1. All participants will gather in the coastal town Prince Rupert for departure to the wolf island. We usually start in the morning the first day depending on weather and tides. The boat ride takes about 3 hours. At arrival we spend the rest of the day in field.
Day 2-6 These days we spend out in field from early morning to late evening in search for the wolves and photo opportunities. We always start well ahead of the best morning light to have the chance to capture the wolves in best light conditions, also we usually stay out until the sun sets. Most often during our time out in the field we sit and wait at some strategic spots along the creek/ river where the wolves often pass by. It can be long hours waiting. The bay where the boats are anchored pretty much gets empty of water during low tide, the wolves then quite often travels on the tidal flats right next to the boats. The boats then function as a good look out for wolves! If lucky one can then observe and photograph wolves right from the boat!
Day 7. Depending on tides wecription text goes here
